We have two classes for the adults, we have a brazilian jiu jitsu competition team and we have a bjj beginner team. All adults are welcome to attend either or both classes. With the beginner team we will start with warmups to better our cardio, these include a variety of running exercises and drills. We also workout with pushup drills and lots of core exercises and ab workouts. For beginners its important to get a feel for the movements of brazilian jiu jitsu and establesh a good base. We will work basic submissions and we have many good submission drills to work on. We will also work on basic takedowns and getting to the ground along with setting up a good guard game and learning some sweeps.
For our adult competition team we have a hard running warmup followed by ab workouts and drills. We will work on harder and more in depth takedowns, hand fighting, and techiques to get you to the ground. We also cover a variety of different open and closed guard positions along with some basic and advaced submissions. With the competition team we start to stress the importance ot positioning for points in a competition. If competing is of interest to you we will get you ready and be there in your corner coaching you during your fight!
For the juvenile team we try to work and cardio exercises and some strengh building workouts along with useful drills. Like the beginner team we stress the importance of having a good guard and a solid base. We will introduce the juveniles to takedowns and the variety of positions and submissions that go along with them, we will also start to teach the point system in case they would like to compete.
For the kids team we have loads of fun! We play games that will get your child more coordinated and get them to start learning some fundamentals of brazilian jiu jitsu without them ever knowing it! We will work in some basic drills in between games and above all we try to make it fun! We also want the kids to know they are not to use what they have learned for fighting outside of class and what we teach them should be used to avoid physical confrontations.
